Pray

A message from CSI’s International President

Pray for the Suffering Parts of the Body of Christ

Part of our calling as Christians is to intercede for this world in prayer. We lift up those who suffer to the Almighty and ask for His help. But how do we know who to pray for?

Of course, we pray for our family, friends, and other people whose needs we know about firsthand. Many of us also pray for the victims of faraway catastrophes – wars, famines, natural disasters – that we learn about in the secular media.

Unfortunately, if our prayers are informed only by what we hear about in the news, we risk neglecting to pray for those who should be closest to us – the thousands around the world who are killed, beaten, raped, imprisoned, and discriminated against because of their identification with our Christian faith.

The Bible tells us that these victims of religious persecution are brothers and sisters in Christ. They are parts of the worldwide Body of Christ to which we belong. “When one part suffers” the Apostle Paul tells us, “all parts suffer with it”. (I Cor. 12:26)

You can make a difference – by encouraging prayer for the world’s persecuted Christians in your weekly worship services and prayer meetings.

CSI can help. Every month we publish the names and details of Christians who suffer for their faith. These cases are intended to be used in prayers of intercession. They can help direct our hearts and minds to specific individuals and many others that suffer similarly for their faith.

We will also share the good news of the liberation of Christian prisoners, slaves, bonded labor, and victims of human trafficking, so that you can life up prayers of praise and thanksgiving as well as intercession.

The monthly prayer calendar can be found on the “Get involved>Pray” page of the CSI website.

Wishing you the Almighty’s blessing,

Dr. John Eibner
International President

Prayer topics for December

Sunday December 7, 2025: NIGERIA

Keziah Chollom lost her husband and two older children in a Fulani militant attack on her Christian village in Nigeria’s Middle Belt on the night of October 15. Keziah found their bodies, riddled with bullets, when she emerged from hiding with her two babies. Grief-stricken, she does not know how she will manage to survive.

We pray for Keziah and all survivors of Islamist militant attacks in central Nigeria.

Sunday December 14, 2025: BANGLADESH

H.R., a church worker, was attacked as he was returning home from preaching duties in a remote area. The assailants knocked him off his motorcycle, hit him with iron bars and left him for dead at the side of the road. They said they had warned him repeatedly to stop evangelizing to Muslims and that he deserved to die. H.R. has undergone four operations and his recovery is expected to be slow.

We pray for healing for H.R. and for the safety of Bangladesh’s Christian community.

Sunday December 21, 2025: NEPAL

Pastor Sunil was arrested while distributing Christmas gifts at a school in western Nepal on December 24, 2024. He was released on bail in January, but the case against him has not been dropped. He has had to appear in court 12 times this year. Sunil continues to serve his congregation, but his arrest and the ongoing case have made him anxious.

We pray for Sunil to be acquitted, and for all Christians in Nepal facing persecution.

Sunday December 28, 2025: IRAN

Christian convert Mina Khajavi, aged 61, has been released from prison. In January 2024 she began a six-year sentence for leading a house church. Early in 2025, Mina’s prison term was reduced from six to two years, leading to her release on October 20 with time spent in detention taken into account. Mina has expressed thankfulness for prayer on her behalf while she was in prison. (photo: Article 18)

We give thanks for Mina’s release and pray for all Iranian Christian converts currently in jail.
